A townhouse is properly defined as a two story home attached to one or more other homes. Townhouses do not usually have private pools, although some (for example, on Encantada, Terra Verde, Emerald Island, Windsor Hills and Windsor Palms) may have a smaller splash pool or a hot tub, usually in a courtyard deck. A condo (or apartment) is usually a unit on one floor of a multi-story building. These definitions are not absolute, though, and there are also a number of other terms used for attached properties, such as carriage house.
